Inclusive Employment Programs

Farmer’s Markets

This hands-on experience enhances participants' resumes and sets them up for success in future employment.

Weekly shopping local at the Farmers' Markets are enjoyed by many during the summer months. What happens behind the scenes is an integral part of the H.I.R.E. employment program

Program participants are given an opportunity to work the Market from open to close with duties including general set up, crowd management, interacting with the public, promoting a positive experience, and take down.

Throughout their employment at the Market, participants are challenged to meet the demands of the public, vendors, and their employer. In addition, participants are able to network and build relationships. Vendors may have ongoing employment opportunities or refer participants to other business they may know.

By immersing themselves in the fast-paced market environment, participants develop the stamina and adaptability required for long-term career success. These real-world interactions serve as a live classroom where professional communication and problem-solving skills are refined in every conversation with a visitor or vendor. Ultimately, this experience transforms a summer job into a powerful launchpad, equipping individuals with the confidence and local reputation needed to secure future employment within the Foothills community.
